Ingredients
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 cup dulce de leche
- 3 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- ⅓ cup + 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon vinegar
- 1 ½ cups cake flour
- ¼ cup Premier Protein Vanilla Milkshake 100% Whey Protein Powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 6 Vanilla Premier Protein Shakes
- Additional dulce de leche for drizzling
Directions
- Heat the oven to 350 F then line and grease quarter sheet pan and put to the side.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar and on medium-high for 2-3 minutes until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl with a spatula as you go. Add the dulce de leche and beat on high for 1 minute.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating on medium-high until smooth after each addition, scraping down the sides of the bowl as you go.
- Combine the milk, oil, vanilla and vinegar and with the mixer on medium-low speed, slowly stream the liquids into the bowl, scraping down the sides of the bowl as you go. Mix on medium for 2 minutes to ensure the mixture is homogeneous.
- Combine the cake flour, protein powder, baking powder and salt, then add it to the mixer, mixing on low speed to combine all ingredients into a smooth batter, 1 minute.
- Pour and spread batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake 30-35 minutes, where the cake will rise and puff. At 30 minutes, poke the cake lightly on the edge with your finger. The cake should bounce back slightly and the center should no longer be jiggly. If the cake doesn’t pass these tests, continue baking for 3-5 minutes.
- Cool completely at room temperature.
- Remove the cake from the pan and cut into 2 rows x 3 column and place in a bowl, drizzle extra caramel sauce atop, pour one Premier Protein Vanilla Shake over each portion.
