What are you most excited about when you get up in the morning?
I wake up every day excited to see what I’m going to discover in class, the O.R., or in my research lab. I look forward to fueling myself with healthy and yummy foods and absolutely love when I can get up and run while watching the sun rise over the ocean in Miami.
What’s something that people wouldn’t know about you upon first glance?
I’m Persian! My grandpa is from Iran and though I don’t look it, I love that part of my heritage. My grandfather practiced as an OB/GYN in the U.S. for many years and is one of my biggest role models.
What’s your spirit animal?
The lion. I love that female lions are strong, independent, and rely on no one to get the job done but are immensely compassionate for their family and those they care about. I see the lion as strong and determined and I strive to be that way in my own life.
Who inspires you to be a better person?
My mom, dad, and my brother. They are the most kindhearted and selfless people I know and inspire me to be the best that I can be.
If you had an unexpected day off, what would you do?
I’d make a nice breakfast, enjoy my coffee, get ahead on some work, then take the day to explore somewhere outside and try to get active.
